Dec 10, 2019 | Hospital Solutions

With the holidays fast approaching, it’s easy to get inundated with news and articles. How do you know which are useful and worth your time? Our team gathered together a list of what they think are the most important articles for hospital marketers this holiday season:

2. CAR-T costs 'not sustainable' for hospitals, researchers say

CAR-T has been the hottest trend in oncology for the last year. While the therapy is successful and has even led to remission in some patients, it is not necessarily cost-effective. The therapy costs between $373k and $475k excluding additional hospital costs associated with treatment. Reimbursement is set to increase in 2020 but will still leave hospitals with a loss after administering CAR-T.

3. Why working from home should be standard practice

Stanford economics professor Nicholas Bloom conducted a randomized controlled trial to assess if employees working from home were more productive than their in-office counterparts.

4. Lyft, Uber expands reach into healthcare

Uber and Lyft are making moves to establish themselves in the healthcare space. Uber is partnering with Cerner to allow providers to request rides through their EHR. Lyft is providing covered rides for eligible Medicaid beneficiaries in Georgia, Michigan, Missouri, Tennessee, and Virginia (although they do have a partnership with Allscripts). Both are trying to offer rides for patients to medical appointments.
